For 50 years, Two-time Grammy winner BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet have been hailed as “the best Cajun band in the world.” Doucet and the band can be credited with taking Cajun music from its regional roots in Louisiana to popularity worldwide.  Born from their rich Acadian ancestry BeauSoleil’s distinctive sound derives from the distilled spirits of New Orleans jazz, blues rock, folk, swamp pop, Zydeco, country and bluegrass. Driven by bandleader Michael Doucet’s spellbinding fiddle playing and soulful vocals, BeauSoleil brings even the most staid audience to its feet.

On Saturday, February 24, at 10 a.m., enjoy a special outreach opportunity with BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet for a questions and answer experience in French.  This outreach will happen at the Caestecker Public Library at 518 Hill St., Green Lake.  This tailored experience invites French students and community members to engage directly with the musicians, explore Cajun music’s profound connection to French culture, and enrich their cultural understanding. Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to delve into the vibrant world of BeauSoleil and expand your musical appreciation! This event is free and open to the public.

This event is supported in part by grants the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
