Green Lake’s historic Thrasher Opera House will host an artist reception on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring the works of local photographer David Fields. The exhibit runs through August 31.

David Fields is a fine art photographer whose abstract images draw the viewer’s attention to shape, color, shadow, and contrast. His work shows the beauty in often-overlooked objects in our environment, both human-made and natural. In particular, David is interested in the transformation that occurs over time when decay, disarray, and randomness turn the mundane into  something unique.  While it is tempting to guess what each image is derived from, David encourages viewers to step back and enjoy what is there.

David has won several awards for his art, including Honorable Mention at the Moscow International Foto Awards, the Lilian Noble Award at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Art juried show, and the Merit Award at the Stevens Point Festival of the Arts.

David lives in Green Lake with his wife Cathy and their cats Finlay and Boingboing. His website is lotusfineartphotography.com.

The reception is free and open to the public; a cash bar will be available. Green Lake’s historic Thrasher Opera House will host the exhibit through August 31, 2025. This exhibit can be viewed M-F 10-4; for after-hour visits, call 920.294.4279 to schedule a time.
