MONDAY | JUNE 16 | 4 P.M. – 6 P.M.

Get ready for an absolutely epic adventure because Missoula Children’s Theatre is bringing BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE to our community, and area students can be a part of it!

Whether you’re a seasoned stage veteran or you’ve never stepped foot on a stage before, all levels of experience are welcome. MCT is the perfect place to try out theater for the very first time or to sharpen those acting chops!

An outing to the beach can be full of fun for a bunch of laid back beach bums but start adding characters like upset crocodiles, joyful mermaids, very crabby crabs and the stage crawls with critter hijinks. Sam the giant clam puts in his two bits as the sea weed creatures take us back in time to meet the sailors and pirates of three hundred years ago. The pirate parrots may be pretty but watch out for their squawk! Follow Blackbeard and his pirates as they discover the true treasures of life…and maybe even the secret to a long one.

Audition Information

Auditions are Monday, June 16, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Students may arrive between 3:30 PM and 4 PM, and should be prepared to stay for the full two hours of fun. Parents, grandparents and guardians, you are welcome to hang out and cheer on your kiddos! Some lucky cast members will even get to dive straight into a rehearsal right after auditions, while others will get to head out after their cast announcements at 6 PM.

Who Can Audition?

Students entering 1st grade through 12th can audition for the 60 roles up for grabs. No need to prep anything in advance – just bring your amazing selves!

Rehearsals and Performances

Students will receive a detailed rehearsal schedule, but generally, our older students can expect to rehearse from 4 PM to 8:15 PM, Tuesday, June 17 through Friday, June 20. Don’t forget to pack a dinner to keep your energy up! Younger students usually have a bit more flexibility and don’t stay quite as late.

Then, it’s showtime! We’ll be bringing BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE to life with two awesome performances on Saturday, June 21, at 3 PM and 5:30 PM.
