Named for the Greek goddess of the hunt\, the multinational\, multigenerational band features pianist Renee Rosnes\, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen\, tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover\, bassist Noriko Ueda\, and drummer Allison Miller. After experiencing an ARTEMIS live show\, Blue Note President Don Was signed the band to the label. Currently\, the band’s third recording for the label\, ARBORESQUE\, is due out February 28\, 2025. The music is testament to the group’s evolving musical landscape and features stellar arrangements and riveting originals contributed by all members of the band. NPR hailed the band as “a killer line-up of players who hail from all over the world who converge on this extremely cosmopolitan\, sleek\, rhythm-forward\, modern sound.” Each member of the band is a brilliant player\, composer and bandleader and the group’s repertoire reflects each individual’s sound and concept. From original music to mind-bending arrangements of eclectic material\, Artemis performs with power\, passion\, and high-wire intensity. It’s no wonder the band has been recognized by the Downbeat Readers Poll for two consecutive years (2023 & 2024) as “Jazz Group of the Year.” Rosnes says\, “Our goal is to make honest music that touches people. We inspire one another and feel passionate about playing together. All that positive energy comes through in the sound and I believe audiences can feel it.” \n“Collectively\, the sheer force of the group’s ability is staggering!” ~ Downbeat \nThis event is sponsored in part by the Alfred T. Peck\, Jr. Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. \n \n \n \n \n \n The only authorized source for online ticket sales is thrasheroperahouse.com – any other website\, secondary or tertiary ticket agency\, or ticket broker is not a verified ticketing agent. Those are the qualities that have steered Zito’s career since the beginning and continue to define every effort he’s offered since. \n“I have nothing to hide; it seems my honesty is what people relate to most\,” he once told Vintage Guitar magazine. “Anders (Osborne) told me early on\, ‘If you don’t believe what you’re singing\, you’ll never be a good singer.’ I try not to write fluff; I try to make every word count.” \nNaturally\, patience and perseverance have been Zito’s stock and trade since the beginning. He began playing guitar at the age of five\, and by the time he reached his late teens\, he was already a fixture on the local St. Louis music scene. He initially released his music independently and then signed with Eclecto Groove Records in 2008. “Pearl River\,” the title track of his 2009 album for the label\, won Song of the Year at the Blues Music Awards and marked his first collaboration with Cyril Neville\, with whom he’d later work in the Royal Southern Brotherhood. A steady succession of critically acclaimed albums followed\, culminating in 2011’s Greyhound\, which was nominated for Best Rock Blues Album at that year’s Blue Music Awards ceremony in Memphis. Two years later\, he signed with Ruf Records and released Gone to Texas\, the story of how he gained his sobriety\, offered an emotional homage to the state that left an indelible imprint on his entire life. It also marked the debut of his band\, The Wheel. \nFrom 2010 to 2014\, Zito also played an integral role in the super group of sorts\, Royal Southern Brotherhood. The group released two albums and a DVD\, Songs from the Road – Live in Germany\, winner of the year’s Blues Music Award for Best DVD. He also made his mark behind the boards by producing albums for Samantha Fish\, Albert Castiglia\, Ally Venable\, Jeremiah Johnson\, Jimmy Carpenter\, and many others. \nMeanwhile\, the accolades kept coming. His album\, Make Blues Not War\, debuted on the Billboard Blues Album Chart at number one and garnered him recognition as the 2018 Rock Blues Artist of the Year at the Blues Music Awards. First Class Life followed suit\, also entering the charts at number one. Alternate Root magazine insisted that “The First Class Life that Mike Zito titles his upcoming album can be heard in the sweet sound of Blue Soul rising like heat waves from his guitar and his vocal.” American Blues Scene said\, “Mike Zito’s return to the blues is\, in a word\, triumphant!” No Depression declared\, “Once again\, Zito has delivered the goods\, a first class package with no postage due.” \nIn 2019\, Zito released a tribute album of fellow St. Louis native and rock ‘n’ roll legend\, Chuck Berry\, and featured an array of guest guitarists ranging from Joe Bonamassa\, Walter Trout and Eric Gales\, to Robben Ford\, Luther Dickinson and Sonny Landreth\, as well as Berry’s own grandson. Rock ’n Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry debuted on the Billboard Blues Album Chart at number 1 and remained on the chart for several weeks. Rock ’N Roll won the Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Album of the year and Mike also received the Blues Music Award for Blues Rock artist. \nAt about the same time\, Mike Zito partnered with Guy Hale to form the new record label Gulf Coast Records. Gulf Coast Records is based in Nederland\, TX with a focus on Regional Roots\, Blues and Americana genres. The mutual passion of the founders is to lift up artists and help them get their music out to the world. \nQuarantine Blues\, was recorded during the heart of the coronavirus pandemic and served as a healing love letter to his fans around the world that heralded better days ahead if we’d all just stick together. In 2021\, Mike released Resurrection on his record label Gulf Coast Records. The new disc was produced by the celebrated Grammy-winner David Z\, best known for his long-standing work with Prince\, and who has contributed to albums by Etta James\, Billy Idol\, BoDeans\, Buddy Guy and John Mayall\, among many others.  \n“I have songs in me and musical ideas all of the time\,” volunteers Mike Zito about the new album’s genesis. “I write what I can\, when I can and try to save it all for posterity. Some of the songs are just songs and they don’t always have meaning for me\, and some of them become very personal. For me to sing songs and feel them with real emotion\, they need to be somewhat personal. Even songs I did not write\, I need to feel they explain a part of my thinking or how I am feeling about love\, sex\, life\, death\, the world…. Resurrection is an album of feelings\, emotions\, and is very personal. The title track is how I once almost lost my love\, but it came back stronger than ever. I have had this song in me for years\, but it only makes sense now to share it with the world. After the year we have had on planet Earth\, I believe we all need a rebirth. This rebirth has given me an opportunity to be who I want to be musically and artistically.” \nResurrection was a critic and fan favorite and later won the Blues Music Award for the 2022 Blues Rock Album of the year.  \nIn 2022\, Zito released the double live album Blues for the Southside. Recorded on November 26\, 2021\, at the Old Rock House in St. Louis\, Missouri\, and produced by Mike Zito\, Blues for the Southside showcases Zito (guitar\, vocals) and his stellar band in full fury with special guests Tony Campanella\, Dave Kalz and guitar wizard Eric Gales. After the release of Blues for the Southside\, Zito joined forces with Gulf Coast Records label mate Albert Castiglia and created the Blood Brothers tour. \n \n \n \n \n \n The only authorized source for online ticket sales is thrasheroperahouse.com – any other website\, secondary or tertiary ticket agency\, or ticket broker is not a verified ticketing agent. But on her latest album I Built a World\, the Charlottesville native unlocks an impressive new sound: her voice.  “This is the first album I’ve ever sung lead on. Singing is something I’d always thought I’d do at some point and in 2020 I had the time and space to finally find my voice\,” Bronwyn says. Even as the pandemic halted touring and so much else\, vocal lessons kept her focused. “It’s funny\,” she jokes of the timing\, “you put a mask on me and suddenly I want to sing.” I Built a World marks her first vocal album\, but Bronwyn has been a musician since before she can remember. “Apparently\, I saw two girls busking on the street playing fiddles when I was three\,” she explains with a laugh\, “and I pointed to them and said\, ‘I will do that.'” As a child\, music lessons gradually transitioned into public performances\, with a particular emphasis on Irish music after her family relocated to Charlottesville\, Virginia. And her lifelong musical education continues to shape her work today. A background in dance makes her a captivating and energetic live performer. An on-stage collaboration with fellow Charlottesville native Dave Matthews taught her how a crowd could feed your energy. And attending Berklee during the early years of its American Roots Music program offered inspiration from classmates like Sierra Hull and Alex Hargreaves—as well as an introduction to Tuttle and most of Bronwyn’s Golden Highway bandmates.  “My favorite bluegrass musicians today are the ones who are rooted in traditional music\, but don’t really see any boundaries\,” she says. “It’s as if they draw from a traditional bluegrass vocabulary\, but use it to say what they want to say.”  Now\, as her own entry in bluegrass history expands from celebrated instrumentalist to bandleader and frontwoman\, Bronwyn isn’t just crafting a career in the image of genre greats like Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas; she’s bringing them along for the ride. Both Bush and Douglas are featured as players on I Built a World\, and they’re not the only of Bronwyn’s musically-inclined pals and heroes to make an appearance.  Darrell Scott sings on “Angel Island\,” a Peter Rowan tune. Country fans may recognize Dierks Bentley singing harmony on “Trip Around the Sun” and Brit Taylor on “Answers”. Longtime pal Tuttle and Bronwyn’s fiance Jason Carter (an accomplished fiddle player himself) also appear as vocalists on multiple tracks. And rounding out the band are Bryan Sutton on guitar; Dominick Leslie\, Bronwyn’s Golden Highway bandmate\, on mandolin; Wesley Corbett and Scott Vestal on banjo; and Jeff Picker on bass. Indeed\, community is the axis on which I Built a World spins. Long before she tapped talent for the studio\, Bronwyn sourced songs for the album from her musical network in Nashville and beyond. “A lot of the songs are gathered from my friend group and community here in Nashville\,” she says. “I reached out to friends and just people whose music I liked and asked\, ‘Is there any chance you have anything that you’re not planning on recording?'” Many did. Not all of the songs were new territory\, though. In fact\, she’d been holding onto the title track for years after hearing it on the radio while driving through Kentucky. She contacted the artist\, Matthew Parsons\, for his blessing to record it\, and the song set the tone for the entire project. “‘I Built a World’ is about daydreaming\, about building worlds in your mind. I was definitely a kid who did a lot of that. But as an adult\, I feel like music still can take me to that place\,” she says. She hopes listeners can take a little bit of that dreaminess with them. “Each song on this album is its own little world\, its own story\, a space and a place in your mind that you can travel to and explore. Whatever you’re needing or wanting to feel\, you can go to that place here. I hope you enjoy the journey.” \nEqually comfortable picking pristine progressive bluegrass and electric jamband solos\, Kyle Tuttle is a rare and virtuosic banjo player known for his work with GRAMMY-winning guitarist Molly Tuttle\, and former Yonder Mountain String Band mandolin player Jeff Austin.  His third album Labor of Lust\, is very different from his first two albums. On his new record\, Tuttle explores a wide range of sounds and possibilities for the banjo\, while his songwriting gives insight into a tumultuous time in his own life; losing a mentor and going through a divorce.  “A life in professional music\, or performance of any kind really\, is often painted in glamor… but the man behind the curtain can exist in a difficult duality.  An attempt at putting a saddle on success can eat a person up and wreck the things they hold dear.  In reality\, any pursuit of the love of the masses can easily become a Labor of Lust.” Growing up in Georgia\, Kyle Tuttle first began singing and playing folk songs with his grandparents. After studying at Berklee College of Music and moving to Nashville\, TN\, Tuttle played in the band of Yonder Mountain String Band mandolinist Jeff Austin until Austin’s death in 2019. Now playing full time with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway\, (Kyle) Tuttle has been busy touring while finishing his newest album\, Labor of Lust.  The album was recorded over two sessions in Nashville with engineers Daniel Rice and Megan McCormick\, and features a stacked cast of musicians including Golden Highway bandmate Dominick Leslie\, The Infamous Stringdusters Travis Book\, singer/songwriter Lindsay Lou\, and many others.  Sonically\, the music moves from straightforward bluegrass (Trailer in Boulder Canyon)\, to electric funk-jams (Ghost)\, to song-based folk numbers (Turn On Your Radio). Kyle has also worked closely with Jamgrass legends Larry Keel\, Travelin’ McCourys\, Leftover Salmon\, Greensky Bluegrass\, Billy Strings\, Railroad Earth and many more. \n \n \n \n \n \n The only authorized source for online ticket sales is thrasheroperahouse.com – any other website\, secondary or tertiary ticket agency\, or ticket broker is not a verified ticketing agent. Nicole was initially influenced by her parents playing in bands and working around the KC music scene. She recalls seeing her father playing blues guitar and her mother singing with the group Little Eva and The Works and it set off a switch. With her two brothers\, Nick and Kris\, they formed the “Heavy Blues” band Trampled Under Foot\, which found initial popularity in the Midwest\, then exploded worldwide for over 10 years. \nThere has been no shortage of praise; Guitar World stated\, “Danielle Nicole has won respect and admiration throughout the American blues scene for her soulful\, inventive playing and tireless work ethic.” Blues Music Magazine effused\, “Nicole brings it\, bakes it\, and serves it up blazing on a silver soul-rocking platter.” The Kansas City Star declared\, “Blues and soul vocalists tend to improve as they age. Bettye LaVette is among the artists who became increasingly believable as she matured. Danielle Nicole appears to be following in her footsteps.” \nDanielle embarked on her solo career with Wolf Den (2015)\, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts and amassed 7.5 million Spotify streams. Cry No More (2018) followed\, the record was nominated for a Grammy in the contemporary blues category and debuted at number one in the Billboard Blues Charts – it also boasts over Spotify streams in excess of 10 million. The Love You Bleed(2024) has amassed over 1.2 MILLION streams in the less than a year since its release on Forty Below Records. After receiving 8 Blues Music Awards over her career for Bass Player and Female Contemporary Artist of the Year Nicole is just getting warmed up.\n \n \n \n \n \n The only authorized source for online ticket sales is thrasheroperahouse.com – any other website\, secondary or tertiary ticket agency\, or ticket broker is not a verified ticketing agent. SUMMARY:Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas
DESCRIPTION:Season Sponsor – Lake Street Consulting:  Bill & Erica Tourlas \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Williams started his professional music career at 21\, just five years after high school\, recording singles for his brother’s El Sid label. Sid also opened a venue in Lafayette\, El-Sid-O’s\, where Nathan became a staple performer on Friday nights. Williams’ big break came when Buckwheat Zydeco recommended him to Rounder Records\, which was searching for an accordionist after Buckwheat left for Island Records. Nathan auditioned\, secured a recording contract\, and in 1985\, he founded Nathan & the Zydeco Cha-Chas\, inspired by a Chenier instrumental. The band debuted at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 1988. In November 1992\, the Cha Chas played at the New Orleans Rock n’ Bowl for the first time\, paving the way for regular zydeco nights there starting in spring 1993. Nathan’s 1997 live album\, “I’m a Zydeco Hog: Live at the Rock ‘N’ Bowl\, New Orleans\,” captured the energy of these performances. They also celebrated the venue’s 30th anniversary in 2018. The New York Times once noted that Williams\, at 25\, was “poised to become important” in revitalizing zydeco. His music blends zydeco\, jazz\, blues\, and R&B\, with most of the band’s original songs penned by Williams. For over three decades\, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas have toured extensively\, performing everywhere from local Louisiana spots to international stages in countries like Austria\, Spain\, France\, Japan\, the Netherlands\, Turkey\, Germany\, and even Poland\, a first for a zydeco band. The band has always been a family affair\, featuring Nathan on accordion and vocals\, his brother Dennis Paul on guitar\, cousin Mark Anthony “Chukka” Williams on rubboard\, and Sid as manager. Other family members involved include his son Nathan Jr.\, cousin Allen\, and nephew Djuan\, alongside non-family members like bassists Paul Newman and Wayne Burns\, and saxophonist Allen “Cat Roy” Broussard. In his 1995 album “Creole Crossroads\,” Williams collaborated with Cajun fiddler Michael Doucet from BeauSoleil\, highlighting a rare fusion of zydeco and Cajun styles with his brother Sid and Sid’s wife\, working in their grocery store. During a period of illness recovery\, Williams chose to devote himself to mastering the accordion\, practicing secretly in the bathroom. He looked up to Buckwheat Zydeco\, who was a key mentor\, but it was Chenier who left a lasting impact on his music. Sid eventually bought Nathan his first accordion from Buckwheat Zydeco. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Caestecker Experience Passes are available for this show.  Please visit the Caestecker Public Library\, 518 Hill St. Green Lake\, WI to check out FREE tickets for the show.  Caestecker Library patrons with a valid library card can attend a performance at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake. SUMMARY:Gadan
DESCRIPTION:Season Sponsor – Lake Street Consulting:  Bill & Erica Tourlas \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n OUTREACH SPONSOR \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n A storming new band\, blending the drive of Irish traditional music and bluegrass with the heart and soul of folk and Appalachian music—spiced up with an Italian seasoning for extra flair!  Gadan is a fresh project created by seasoned Italian musicians from the Irish trad and European folk/ rock scene\, all with years of experience performing at major traditional and alternative music festivals across Europe and the US. The band originally featured four members\, all Italian\, bringing exceptional skill and passion to Irish traditional music and old-time American styles—a distinctive and remarkable combination.  In 2024\, they were joined by Enda Scahill\, a tenor banjo master\, award-winner\, All-Ireland champion\, and founder of We Banjo 3. With Enda\, Gadan expanded to a five-member band. Together\, Gadan and Enda Scahill performed at all the major Irish festivals across the US during August 2024\, marking the start of an exciting collaboration that will continue into the future. Their high-energy repertoire has a powerful live appeal\, with a unique identity. With three banjos—tenor and clawhammer—fiddle\, mandolin\, and guitar\, they create a distinctive “strings-only” sound\, driven by a powerful rhythmic pulse.  In 2025\, the band completed its line-up with the addition of Eric Long\, a clawhammer banjoist and singer-songwriter originally from the mountainous heart of Pennsylvania—a region deeply rooted in Appalachian tradition—and now based in San Francisco. Eric brings a raw\, authentic American folk soul to the group’s transatlantic sound\, further expanding their dynamic and diverse musical identity. Gadan’s performances build momentum\, sweeping the audience into ecstasy with their refreshing yet deeply rooted traditional sound. \nLINE UP:Enda Scahill: tenor banjo\, Irish craicLorenzo Testa: tenor banjo\, mandolin\, vocalsJacopo Ventura: guitars\, bassEric Long: clawhammer banjo\, mandolin\, vocalsJoan Gatti: fiddle\, hardanger \n \n \n \n \n \n The only authorized source for online ticket sales is thrasheroperahouse.com – any other website\, secondary or tertiary ticket agency\, or ticket broker is not a verified ticketing agent.
