The legendary Corky Siegel comes to Thrasher

Thrasher Opera House is pleased to announce that the legendary Corky Siegel will bring his newest creation – a classical/blues blend of music referred to a Chamber Blues - to Green Lake on October 3, 2003 at 7:30 p.m.


Through his partnership in the legendary Siegel-Schwall Band of 60’s, Siegel gained an international reputation as one of the world’s greatest harmonica masters.  For the more than 4 decades that followed, critics such as; Rolling Stones, Downbeat, Billboard, Jazziz, New York Times and Washington Post have all recognized Corky Siegel, as a “phenomenal virtuoso on harmonica …. a deft accomplished genius of the Blues” and a pioneer who brings his original award-winning benchmark compositions to delighted audiences globally.


As a composer, singer/songwriter, Siegel has expanded his compositions over the years to include a variety of presentations defying any one particular genre.  Whether it’s been presented as blues, classical, jazz, folk, or world music, Siegel’s latest project, Chamber Blues, has successfully embraced audiences around the world with this “joyous marriage of chamber music and the blues” – Studs Terkel.  By combining these two musical genres, Siegel has created a new hybrid of blues and classical music that has been received with wild enthusiasm by widely diverse audiences, new and old.  “A genuine surprise around every corner…walks the line between Beethoven and B.B. As a prelude to this wonderful performance, Thrasher has arranged a special Concert/Dinner package with Norton’s Restaurant of Green Lake.  Norton’s delicious dinner entrées will include a choice of 6 oz. Filet with Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce or Pecan Breaded Walleye, broiled and served with an Amaretto Liqueur butter sauce. Dinners will include: soup, salad, twice-baked potatoes, rolls, beverage, and dessert. Tax and a 15% gratuity are also included.
