Songwriter icon Jimmy Webb returns to Green Lake
With over 40-years of hits under his belt, and the only artist to ever receive Grammy awards for music, lyrics, and orchestration, the prolific singer-songwriter Jimmy Webb not only writes the songs made famous by a plethora of notable artists, but shares interesting stories about his collaborations with them, as well. Enjoy a wonderful and memorable evening of the music and storytelling by Jimmy Webb when he makes a return visit to the historic Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake on Saturday, June 30, 2012 for a 7:30 p.m. performance.
As an example, Jimmy is the genius behind many of Glen Campbell's hits, with “By The Time I Get To Phoenix,” “Wichita Lineman,” “Galveston,” and “Where’s The Playground, Susie” being the biggest hits of his career. In addition, his songs have been either recorded or performed by such diverse artists as, The 5th Dimension, Thelma Houston, The Supremes, Richard Harris, Joan Baez, Johnny Maestro, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Judy Collins, Rosemary Clooney, Reba McIntire, Bob Dylan, Tanya Tucker, Arlo Guthrie, Tony Bennett, Isaac Hayes, Art Garfunkel, Amy Grant, America, Linda Ronstadt, R.E.M., Michael Feinstein, Donna Summer, Carly Simon and more.
