bluehouse - Australia's 5-star folk/pop sensation

Australia’s 5-star folk/pop sensation coming to Thrasher

They are two women with hugely varied musical influences. On stage are an acoustic guitar and an electric bass combined with two heavenly voices. With their passion and dedication to exploring all the possibilities that this combination can realize, you have the amazingly talented duo bluehouse. And you can experience them in person on Saturday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. when they make a return visit to the historic Thrasher Opera House, downtown Green Lake.

Defying comparisons, Bernadette Carroll and Jacqui Walter of bluehouse, have stamped their own style over the categories of folk, folk/pop and contemporary acoustic music. Since forming in Melbourne Australia in 1995, they have forged a successful career as a truly independent worldwide touring and recording supergroup.

Bluehouse’s fan base spans the length and breadth of their home country Australia and has expanded over the years to include New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada and the USA (and who knows where, else as they played to an estimated worldwide listening audience of 200 million when on Mountain Stage Radio in West Virginia).

An immensely entertaining and engaging live show has been the hallmark of their success garnering such praise as "the best night you've ever had" with "glorious harmony work and individual voices ranging from teardrop soft to thunderstorm forceful"- Geoff Wilson SCENE magazine.

Bluehouse has independently released three full-length CDs; "These Days", "BIG" and "6 Minutes of Breathable Air", all including fellow member, Samantha Harley. Their BRAND new bluehouse CD, "One More Kiss", produced by fellow Aussie guitar hero Tommy Emmanuel, is the first full-length disc featuring bluehouse as a duo. Jacqui Walter and Bernadette Carroll shine on all thirteen songs, with their powerful, intricate vocal folk-pop melodies, and hooks that float on air. Tommy Emmanuel shares his stellar musicianship, playing guitar and drums on all tracks! It's the best and brightest bluehouse CD yet!!!

"They fill venues right across Australia, get 5-star reviews in Edinburgh (Fringe Festival highest score), break attendance records in England and get ranked in the media alongside k.d.lang and the Indigo Girls.." David Curry of TIMEOUT
