Spring brings wide variety of artists to Thrasher

Spring events planned for Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake will provide audiences with world-class entertainment in a variety of genres from the rich sounds of a full brass band, to an acoustic string band with impeccable four part harmonies.  Add the easy sounds of a folk legend and you have a spring filled with concerts to please just about everyone.

Dallas Brass, one of America’s foremost musical ensembles whose repertoire includes: classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music, will bring their unique blend of traditional brass instruments and full complement of drums and percussion to the stage on April 21.  Now this is music that is sure to stir the soul!  Tickets for the concert are $18 Adults and $14 Seniors & Students.

One of Thrasher’s favorite foursomes, the Four Bitchin’ Babes, returns to Green Lake on May 8.  Together they tell humorously observant tales of modern urban life.  A hilariously twisted foursome- one part comedy routine, one part acoustic mastery and always lots of fun!  Tickets are $ 25.  A special Mothers Day Dinner/Concert Package has been arranged with Grey Rock (Heidel House) for this particular event, for the exceptional combo price of $47.

And on May 22, folk legend Tom Rush, the first major artist to record the songs of a then-unknown Joni Mitchell, and also emerging singer/songwriters: Jackson Browne, Eric von Schmidt, James Taylor and Eric Kaz, will perform at Thrasher.  Rush helped shape the folk revival in the ‘60’s and the renaissance of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s and has been captivating audiences throughout the country ever since with his ever-romantic, gently rustic folk music.  Tickets are $18.

Tickets for all concerts should be ordered soon as evidenced by the recent early sales for the folk legend, Tom Rush.  Most artists maintain an email list of faithful fans interested in their concert tours. As soon as Rush’s contract was signed, tickets sales began! Although most of tickets were sold to people within a 120 mile radius, it’s surprising to see the volume of sales for this concert, from out of state!  Rush, as well as Dallas Brass and the Four Bitchin’ Babes are sure to be sell-outs – so get those tickets early to avoid being disappointed.

Spring is about to be sprung, so bust out of those winter blues by attending one or even all of the wonderful performances in store this April and May at the historic Thrasher Opera House. We hope to see you there!
