Sabien and Torff bring Swing Jazz to Thrasher

Sabien and Torff bring Swing Jazz to Thrasher

Critically acclaimed jazz artist and educator, Randy Sabien, joins renowned bassist and composer, Brian Torff, at the historic Thrasher Opera House on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 7:30 PM for the final concert of the very successful Fall Concert Series.

In a performance entitled "A tribute to Stephane Grappelli," the two talented performers will display their admiration for the man regarded as the grandfather of jazz violinists.  Grappelli, founder of the Hot Club of France in the 1930's, made famous a style of jazz often described as gypsy swing.  Sabien and Torff's performance will recall Grappelli's most noted standards, including many from the Hot Club era, along with samples of their own original works.

To begin this memorable evening of jazz, Thrasher Opera House has teamed with Mimi's of Princeton to offer a delicious dinner package.  Concert-goers will be offered a 3-course dinner which includes a house salad, entrée choice of Grilled Salmon, Cappellini with Sautéed Lemon Chicken, Grilled Pork Tenderloin, or Spinach Linguine with Shrimp and Scallops.   Dessert and coffee or tea will add the finishing touch to this delicious way to start the evening of fine dining and great entertainment.  This extraordinary dinner, packaged with an evening at the Opera House, and including tax, is being offered for $44.00.

For those who have already purchased this evening’s concert tickets as part of the Fall Concert Series, we invite you to call the Thrasher Opera House to make reservations for dinner at Mimi’s for the special price of $20.00.  Individual concert tickets are also available for $24.00 at Thrasher Opera House office, Knowledge Emporium, Green Lake State Bank, Bull Moose Mercantile, and Ripon Drug.

Through generous sponsorship by Gagne Ford, Bull Moose Mercantile, Mimi's, WBJZ-104.7 and the Heidel House, the Thrasher Opera House invites you come and enjoy an evening of fine dining followed by a two-hour program of acoustic jazz . . . hot club style!
