Jackson Browne's long-time accompanist David Lindley returns to Thrasher

Multi-instrumentalist David Lindley performs music that redefines the word "eclectic."  Lindley, well known for his many years as the featured accompanist with Jackson Browne, and leader of his own band El Rayo-X, has long championed the concept of world music. He'll be performing his music to a legion of fans on Saturday, April 30, 7:30 p.m. at the historic Thrasher Opera House. Check out some of his incredible lap steel guitar work by googling "Mercury Blues," or his collaborations with Jackson Browne on Youtube.

In addition to performing for years with Jackson Browne, Lindley has contributed to recordings and live performances by Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt, Curtis Mayfield, James Taylor, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Terry Reid, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart and Joe Walsh. He has also collaborated with fellow guitarists Ry Cooder and Henry Kaiser.

David's electro-acoustic performance effortlessly combines American folk, blues, and bluegrass traditions with elements from African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy, and Turkish musical sources while incorporating an incredible array of stringed instruments including, but not limited to, Kona and Weissenborn Hawaiian lap steel guitar, Turkish saz and chumbus, Middle Eastern oud, and Irish bouzouki. The eye-poppingly clad "Mr. Dave's" uncanny vocal mimicry and demented sense of humor make his onstage banter a highlight of the show.

Along with sponsorship by the Horicon Bank and accommodations by the Bay View Motel, this event is also supported in part by a grant from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce's Alfred Peck Fund, and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets are $25 and available at the Thrasher office, Horicon Bank (Green Lake); Ripon Drug, Pick N Save (Ripon); Twister (Princeton); or by calling the Thrasher office at (920)294-4279.  Online tickets available at
