The Jimmys rock the house this weekend!
The Jimmys perform this weekend, Saturday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m., at the historic Thrasher Opera House in downtown Green Lake. Fronted by keyboardist Jimmy Vogeli, the Madison blues powerhouse puts on a performance one critic says "...makes you want to shake a tailfeather."
Named the "2012 Best Swing/Big Band Ensemble" by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry, the band just earned five new 2013 Madison Area Music Awards.
This summer The Jimmys released "HaDaYa Do That Thing LIVE!" - a great live album. Recorded in three venues across Wisconsin, Iowa and Indiana, it's a fun album that captures the energy of their live shows. And blues harp legend, Jim Liban (Short Stuff), makes a guest appearance on a special track from the Milwaukee Ale House!
"Can't beat the Jimmys for non-stop excitement. There's not a better band on the scene. Blazing horns and virtuosos at every position. Voegeli is super on vocals and keys with charisma and charm in the bandleader role." Bob Queen - Marquette Neighborhood Association Event Coordinator.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Sponsorship is generously provided by KELLY Mouthpieces and accommodations by the Heidel House.
