Two nights of comedy with Tim Cavanagh & Bob Zany
It's a treat to come across fresh humor and novel concepts, and comedians Tim Cavanagh and Bob Zany offer up a variety of both. Through their hysterical comedy, Cavanagh and Zany team up for two brainy, dynamic, and relentlessly funny performances on Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8 at the Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake at 7:30pm each night.
Both Cavanagh and Zany are currently two of the most in-demand comics with such broad appeal that they’ve received high marks from some of the world’s most respected blogs, print magazines and weekly newspapers. In addition to performing at hundreds of shows throughout the country every year, each has frequent spots on "The Bob and Tom Show," a morning drive radio show syndicated in roughly 150 markets nationwide.
Tim Cavanagh has headlined major comedy clubs throughout America for over 20 years and has performed at hundreds of colleges and corporate groups. He made his prime-time network television debut on ABC-TV and has also been featured on Showtime, Comedy Central and Comcast. Since 1997, he has released several comedy CDs featuring original comedy bits and songs, covering topics from ENRON to Ash Wednesday (Monster-style) and everything in between. Recently, Cavanagh became a proud contributor to the book, Complete Idiots Guide to Jokes. A multitude of drive-time radio shows across the country feature Cavanagh as a regular guest. He has been a writer and contributor, including dozens of jingles and songs and comedy bits, on The Jim Krenn Show and The Danny Bonaduce Show, and is a frequent and favorite guest on "The Bob and Tom Show." Dr. Demento said of Tim Cavanagh, "That man is a master of word play!"
Bob Zany appears weekly on the nationally syndicated radio program The Bob and Tom Show, and has his own segment called The Zany Report. In recent years, he has also guest-hosted portions of Jerry Lewis' Labor Day Telethon. In addition to stage performances, he's made appearances as a contestant on The Gong Show (1976), the George Schlatter's Comedy Club (1986), To Tell the Truth (1990) and had a small role in the film Joe Dirt as the guy at the radio station who pushes Joe down at the beginning of the movie.
On September 16, 2006, he appeared on the Comedy Central special, The Friends of the Bob and Tom Show. Zany has also appeared in the Steven Soderbergh film, The Informant (2009) along with Matt Damon His current project is a new documentary called "Close But No Cigar: Bob Zany", a film about the elusiveness of success.
