The joint will be jumpin' with award-winning DePaul Jazz ensemble
The DePaul University Jazz Ensemble, along with special guest, premier jazz drummer Jeff Hamilton, performs at the historic Thrasher Opera House on March 24 at 7:30 p.m.
The award-winning ensemble performs several times throughout the year both on and off campus, including at Chicagoís premier jazz club, Joe and Wayne Segalís Jazz Showcase. Directed by Bob Lark the Jazz Ensemble has also appeared at several clinics & conferences, the Jazz Party At Sea aboard the S.S. Hamilton's distinguished career includes performances and nearly 200 recordings with distinguished jazz artists including Woody Herman and the Thundering Herd, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Diana Krall, Monty Alexander, Oscar Peterson, Gene Harris, the Count Basie Orchestra, and bassist Ray Brown. Hamilton, who along with John Clayton, leads the acclaimed Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, is also co-owner of Bosphorus Cymbals.
