John Gorka and Rose Cousins coming to Thrasher
John Gorka and Rose Cousins, two outstanding folk singer-songwriters, will be appearing at the historic Thrasher Opera House in beautiful downtown Green Lake on Friday, January 27 at 7:30 pm.
John Gorka is an honored icon of folk tradition. Energetic acoustic music that is not a trend, not a fad, but an expression of everyday life, is his trademark. John's rich baritone voice and unique songcraft weave a magical spell that can only be described as "Gorka." Rolling Stone magazine calls him "...the leading singer/songwriter of the New Folk movement."
Rose Cousins, a Canadian born singer-songwriter, is winner of the 2011 East Coast Music Awards' Female Artist & Songwriter of the Year and the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Awards' Contemporary Singer of the Year, has been steadily building a following in the United States by constantly making music and touring with colleague across the country.
