Roger McGuinn, founder of the legendary 60s band "The Byrds" returns to Thrasher
Roger McGuinn, founder of one of the most influential folk/rock bands of the 1960ís, The Byrds, will be appearing at the historic Thrasher Opera House in beautiful downtown Green Lake, on Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 pm.
After his many successful years with The Byrds, McGuinn went solo, oftentimes accompanied on albums by such music greats as Bob Dylan or former bandmates Clarence White, David Crosby, and Chris Hillman. McGuinn continued to tour throughout the years with Dylan, Tom Petty and others, and in 1994 began recording a series of traditional folk songs and uploading them to folkden.com, part of his homepage. Since then he has posted a new recording of a traditional folk song every month. In addition, Roger continues to release his own cds as well as collaborate on others.
This project is supported in part by grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Accommodations provided by the Heidel House Resort & Spa.
Please note: This concert is close to being sold-out. Tickets are only available by the Thrasher office at 920-294-4279 or on the website at www.thrasheroperahouse.com.
