Wisconsin’s musical humorists, Lou and Peter Berryman, will be performing at historic Thrasher’s Opera House in Green Lake on Saturday, July 22nd , 7:30 p.m. The Berrymans are musical humorists. Peter plays guitar and writes the lyrics for their songs, which are rich with wordplay and witty images; Lou plays accordion and writes their jaunty and infectious melodies. A performance by Lou and Peter is friendly and chatty, with the style of music ranging from folk to cabaret. Though their material is wickedly funny, it is pleasant, and not bawdy or risqué.
Formerly married and longtime friends, in their more than 20 years together, Lou & Peter have recorded 12 albums of their original songs, and produced 2 songbooks. The newest CD, entitled “House Concert”, was recorded live in March of 2000. They tour throughout the year and make their homes in Madison, Wisconsin. On May 20, 1999, Lou & Peter Berryman played on the Millennium Stage of the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, as Wisconsin’s nomination in a series featuring music invited from each of the fifty states. Many people’s pick for the best comic songwriters in acoustic music today…”.
The Berryman concert is sponsored by the First National Bank of Berlin, Green Lake and Poy Sippi.
