The Bills' high-energy roots music coming to Thrasher!

For the past eleven years, five musicians have gathered to perform their personal melodic concoctions to audiences around the world drawing inspiration from North America, Europe, Latin America, and Romany. On April 14, Scott White, Marc Atkinson, Chris Frye, Adrian Dolan and Richard Moody of The Bills will come together at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin, to display their ingenious works once again.

After the release of their first demo cassette in 1997, The Billy Hilly Band, The Bills have since released three albums, including the acclaimed Let ‘Em Run (2004), which was nominated for the 2005 Canadian JUNO award for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year. They have also been involved in four compilations and have received acclaim from performing in their home base in Canada to California and as far as Copenhagen at festivals, private concerts and even school auditoriums. And in light of The Halifax Herald’s statement of turning “traditional music fabulously on its ear”, last October the group was honored with title of Entertainer of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards in Winnipeg.

“These five musicians shook the island with tight harmonies, juggling genres, fusing them and making it all sound incredibly fluid and melodious,” quoted the Calgary Herald following The Bills' Calgary Folk Festival main stage performance. After gracing stages in Winnipeg, Detroit and Minnesota, come see for yourself what The Bills bring to the local stage of the historic Thrasher Opera House in beautiful downtown Green Lake on April 14th, 7:30PM. Doors open at 6:45PM.

R. Warr from Sing Out! The Folk Song Magazine says, “The Bills are the folk equivalent of sticking your finger in an electric outlet.” “Sheer brilliance…probably the best live act I have ever seen”- Maverick Magazine (UK)
