Experience Hormonal Imbalance at Thrasher!

The Thrasher Opera house will be introducing the wildly popular Babes for a third time on May 11th at 7:30 pm.  The outrageously funny and multi-talented musician gal pals, who examine and ultimately celebrate the lives of today’s men and women, use intricate four part harmonies and satirical lyrics to make for one fiercely funny new show titled Hormonal Imbalance…A Mood Swinging Musical Revue!

Armed with two new members, or “gal pals” as they refer to each other, and a whole new arsenal of material, The Babes are hotter than ever!  Together, these women have performed all over the country and use both the best and the worst of their experiences along the way in their show, however, individually, they are all forces to be reckoned with.

Sally Fingerett has graced the stage in performances of “The Vagina Monologues” and been a guest with folk legends Peter, Paul and Mary.  She has written comedy dialogues and performed jingles for name-brands such as Sears and Butterfinger candy bars.  Her fifth solo studio recording, "A Women’s Gotta Do Her Thing" includes a duet with guest vocalist and upcoming Thrasher guest Janis Ian.

Debi Smith counts among her accomplishments repeat guest of NPR’s Prairie Home Companion and has performed everywhere from CBS Sunday Morning to EPCOT Center.  Her song, “Virginia”, was selected as a finalist for the Virginia state song.  In the wake of her third solo album, "Red Bird Red" which was picked as one of the year’s best by the Washington Post, Debi has just released her fourth solo CD, "Cupid".

Nancy Moran was declared Songwriter of the Year by the Virginia Sound Achievement Awards and WXGI Radio.  Nancy has recorded four solo CDs, including her latest titled “Something Old, Something New”.  Garnering public and commercial radio airplay on 80+ stations coast-to-coast, Nancy’s CDs have landed her on the Gavin Americana charts alongside Delbert McClinton and Joan Baez.

Deirdre Flint has been lauded by The New York Times, Billboard Magazine, and The Christian Science Monitor for her talent in vocals and instrumentals.  Deirdre Flint’s songs hang out at the intersection where folk music and stand-up comedy collide. Since her first CD “The Shuffleboard Queens” debuted in 1999, Flint has played The Kennedy Center and The Kerrville Folk Festival and has been heard on 100+ radio programs throughout the country including The Dr. Demento Show and The World Café.

The Babes have a long and seasoned performance history, but it is their latest additions, Deirdre and Nancy and their new musical revue that are packing venues all around the country.  Their estrogen fueled new show, Hormonal Imbalance…A Mood Swinging Musical Revue!, the Babes are at it once again.  The Babes have vowed to age gracefully, but they will not go quietly!  Get ready for a "HOT" night of music and laughs with a new cast, new tunes, new meds, new hair, and of course a new attitude!
