Ten-time Blues nominee, Ann Rabson, boogies down at Thrasher

Ann Rabson, globe trotting blues artist, will be performing at the Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake on January, 28 at 7:30 pm. Rabson brings her distinctive contralto voice and unique style of boogie-woogie, barrelhouse blues to the stage through generous sponsorship by the Heidel House.

Rabson is an accomplished performer and songwriter with more than 40 years and five continents of experience under her belt. She has toured the world with her blues group Saffire- The Uppity Blues Women as well as completing two European tours by herself. She has also performed solo at the Jazz Club of Hong Kong and headlined the Blues Alive international blues festival in Sumperk, Czech Republic.

Nominated eight times as Blues Music Awardís Female Artist of the Year under the Traditional Blues category for her work over the past four decades, Rabson has also received an Album of the Year nomination for her record Music Makiní Mama, and a Song of the Year nomination for her composition Elevator Man. Sheís released a total of three solo albums, seven albums with her group Saffire and has accompanied various artists on 17 others.

Rabsonís soulful voice expresses the truth of love and relationships that lies at the heart and soul of blues. She writes songs about lost love, unconditional love and walking away from one-sided love. She delivers every song with a gritty truthfulness that suggests knowledge of love that can only come with age.
